Austenitemeter - Mossbauer spectrometer for rapid determination of residual austenite in steel

  Austenitemeter is a portable device allowing non-destructive and rapid determination of austenite in steels, even for structures in use without their removing, or cutting. Austenitemeter is based on the method of backscattering 57Fe M?ssbauer spectroscopy with thickness of layer being investigated up to ~100 μm, where the most analyzed thickness is up to ~20 μm. The investigated method mostly enables rapid determination of the residual austenite in the sample, i.e. within 10-20 minutes with a sufficient accuracy ±1%. Standard regime of the analysis allows to determinate an austenite-to-ferrite ratio or other iron-phases content with a high precision after several hours or few days of measurement for laboratory research or quality control purposes. The method demonstrates high efficient and more sensitive results of the analyses, i.e. comparing with the XRD method. Austenitemeter is the laboratory analytical tool optimized for the needs of industry. It will help engineers accelerate their work and precisely analyze samples, structures, or machinery on location. Moreover spectrometer is suitable not only for metallurgy, but in general for engineering, material research, archeology, etc.
