报告摘要:
There are more than a few meanings of “structure” from sub-nano to micron size. We usually called them, crystal structure, morphology, shape, form and etc. depending of their size.
In this lecture, I will focus on crystalline in poly crystalline materials including hydrogen storage materials. There must be at least two types of “structures” in a crystalline; crystal (or averaged structure) and local structure (or pair distribution function). In addition, because hydrogen has only one electron, any method sensitive to electrons cannot be applied. Therefore, neutron is only the method to analyze both crystal and local structures.
Here, I will introduce how to analyze the diffraction data to obtain these structures. Then, some of the examples will be introduced.
Finally, we will discuss the changes in structures with hydrogenation and dehydrogenation.
