Semiconductor nanowires are important one-dimensional nanoscale building blocks for a variety of applications. This seminar will cover (1) solution-liquid-solid (SLS) growth of high-quality diameter-controlled colloidal semiconductor nanowires, (2) study of quantum confinement effects and electronic band structure of CdTe quantum wires, (3) semiconductor nanowires for visible-light-driven water reduction.
报告人简介:
Dr.Jianwei Sun, postdoctoral fellow at University of California, Berkeley。 He obtained his B.S in chemistry from Zhengzhou University (1996), M.S. from Fudan University (1999), and Ph.D. from Washing University in chemistry (2008). He then joined the group of Prof. Daniel R. Gamelin at Washington University as a Postdoctoral Researcher from 2008 to 2010 in the field of nanostructured metal oxide semiconductors and oxygen catalysts for water solar oxidation. Then in 2010 until now, he joined Prof. Peidong Yang’s group at Berkeley lab as postdoctoral fellow. Current research focuses on Colloidal Semiconductor Nanowires and hydrogen evolving catalysts for solar water reduction.
