报告人简介:
Prof. Dr. Rainer Lehmann
Rainer Lehmann, Ph.D., is Senior Scientist at the Department of Internal Medicine 4, University Hospital Tuebingen (South-Germany). He is a specialist in Clinical Chemistry and Pathobiochemistry. His responsibilities in this role encompass managing the daily high throughput analyses of all kinds of clinical samples in the central laboratory (25 – 30,000 analyses per day), development of new methods, as well as studying pre-analytical aspects e.g. for the detection of novel biomarkers to assess sample quality. In addition he is head of the research group “functional metabo-lipidomics” at the Institute of Diabetes Research and Metabolic Diseases (German Center for Diabetes Research (DZD e.V.) at the University of Tuebingen). His focus there is the investigation of molecular mechanisms in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes in cell culture experiments, and biofluid and tissue samples from mouse and human studies. He is also a board member of the German Competence Network Diabetes mellitus.
He has a long standing expertise in the development and application of bio-analytical methods and in the investigation of molecular mechanisms of insulin resistance. In a joint NSFC/DFG-funded Sino-German research project he develops and applies together with his partners at the DICP in Dalian metabolomics and lipidomics strategies to achieve novel insights in pathomechanisms of the pre-diabetic state as well as the positive metabolic actions of exercise as a diabetes prevention strategy. In addition his efforts have been focused on new applications of capillary electrophoresis in Clinical Chemistry, as well as the development of analytical strategies for the identification of novel phosphorylation sites in insulin signal transduction proteins, and in particular the search for functional and diagnostic biomarkers of the prediabetic metabolic state. Dr. Lehmann has published more than 90 papers and reviews in international analytical, biochemical and medical journals.
