Scientific issues:
Metabolomic profiling
Pathobiochemistry of metabolic changes and insulin signal transduction in the prediabetes
Identifying new predictive diagnostic metabolite biomarkers
Development and application of innovative techniques in basic research and clinical chemistry
Techniques:
Various electrophoretic, chromatographic, immunological and mass spectrometric methods, as well as molecular and cell culture methods are used in our working group. In addition we deal with the development and application of new analytical techniques. In addition to studies of cell culture assays, we perform experimental animal studies, as well as the analysis of body fluids and tissues of human origin.

Scientific issues
Understanding of the underlying molecular mechanisms is necessary for the prevention and treatment of insulin resistance. These research objectives are edited with cell culture (especially for skeletal muscle, liver) and mouse models. A "Training Center for mice" examines the molecular basis of the importance of sport for the maintenance of a balanced metabolism, such as the importance of Myokinen (signal molecules released from working skeletal muscle). Another focus is the identification and functional characterisation of posttranslational modifications of the insulin receptor substrates.
Current projects
Metabolic function of Interleukin-6 Myokins
Regulation of physiological insulin signal shutdown by serine/Threoninkinasen
Importance of serine/Threoninphosphorylierungen for the role of IRS-1 and IRS-2
Regulation of gene activation in skeletal muscle through sports and fasting
Mohamed TRIBA
He did my PhD thesis in the laboratory of Molecular Physical Chemistry of Biological Membranes at the Institute of Physical and Chemical Biology (Paris). After his PhD, he get a post-doctoral position in the laboratory where applied solid-state NMR for the study of membrane proteins. In 2007,He came back to France, in the European Center for High Field NMR in Lyon. Since 2009, he is assistant professor in the university of Paris 13. I work. Since few years, he developed in-house routines to automatize processing and statistical analyses of metabolic data.
