　　报告摘要：Since 1986, the method of using M？ssbauer spectroscopy (MS) at room temperature was applied to assign the iron sites in an Egyptian coal and oil shales. The main objective of the present talk is to introduce the Egyptian activity in coal characterization, desulphurization and pyrolysis. Special attention will be conducted to the application of MS in hot coal gas desulphurization. 　　  

　　报告人简介：Professor Mamdouh A. Ahmed has his B.Sc in Physics on 1986, grade A with honor degree. He has finished his post graduate program of M. Sc and Ph.D in 1990 and 1995 respectively, concerning the application of M？ssbauer spectroscopy in Coal studies. He is now employed as Full Professor of experimental Nuclear Solid Physics at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Al Azhar University, Nasr City, Cairo, Egypt. He is performed many international cooperative projects during the interval between 1998-2010 with the group of M？ssbauer in Ghent State University/Prof. Dr.Vandenberghe and E.De Grave; Group of Energy resources at Instituto decarboquimica, Zaragoza/Prof. Dr. J.I.Ibarra, P.M.Palacius and R.Juan; Laboratory of Magnetism, Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Wichita state university, USA/Prof. H.H. Hemdah. He published over than 20 articles  in ISI journals (ca. Fuel, Applied surface science, Solid State Ionics and Energy resources part A) concerning the Application of M？ssbauer Spectroscopy in Coal characterization, desulphurization, pyrolysis as well as hot coal gas desulphurization. Professor Mamdouh A. Ahmed is now starting an interesting project with Prof. Junhu Wang, MEDC-DICP, and it is dealing with the catalysis activities of some nano size ferrites. Special attention will be focused on ultra deep desulphurization via reactive adsorption.
