报告人简介:
Dr. Zhang (张学元) is the senior instrumentation specialist at Gamry instruments, and response for the Technical support, development and test of new instrument and new electrochemical techniques.
Dr. Zhang got his B.Sc in Chemistry at Jilin University. He has finished his post graduate program of M. Sc and Ph. D from Institute of Metals Research (CAS) in 1995 and Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden) in 1999, respectively. He has post-doctoral training at University of California at Berkeley (UCB) and after that became senior research associate staff at the University of Western Ontario. His research interests focus on the nuclear material related characterization technique and model construction with transport and corrosion theory. He has published nearly 80 papers in the referred journal, one book, and translation of atmospheric corrosion from English into Chinese, of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy into Chinese, 10 invitation speakers from the conference/universities, and about 40 conference papers. He also has chaired four symposia in electrochemistry and corrosion conferences.
报告摘要:
Currently, the research on the energy storage and conversion devices is the hottest issue all over the world. Electrochemical techniques and instruments, such as potentiostat, galvanostat and frequency response analyzer, etc. are wildly used in the energy field as they can apply and measure the signal of potential as well as current precisely. Take advantage of these instruments, the electrochemical behavior, i.e. the performance, reliability and stability of the energy devices can be characterized. Since 1989, Gamry instruments has been making high-performance, high-value instruments. From the first PC3 to Reference 3000, Gamry designs, manufactures, and sells a variety of electrochemical instruments and accessories to fit the customers’ needs.
The theory of commercialized potentiostat and the fundamental of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) will be introduced in this presentation. Furthermore, the application of classic electrochemical technology during the battery operation, especially the evaluation of extra low impedance for battery system will be discussed in detail.
