　　The German Aerospace Center (DLR) is the national aeronautics and space research centre of the Federal Republic of Germany. Its extensive research and development work in aeronautics, space, energy, transport and security is integrated into national and international cooperative ventures. In addition to its own research, as Germany’s space agency, DLR has been given responsibility by the federal government for the planning and implementation of the German space programme. DLR is also the umbrella organisation for the nation’s largest project management agency. The energy research in DLR focus on the aspects as efficient electricity generation(such as flexible efficient gas turbines \ concentrated solar thermal power \ wind energy \ fuel cells \ micro gas turbines \ hybrid power plants), energy storage(such as high-temperature heat storage\electro-chemical energy storage \ chemical energy storage \ elektrolysis \ solar fuels), systems analysis(such as energy scenarios \ integration of renewables), etc. 

　　报告人简介： 

　　Professor Andre Thess is the director of Institute of Engineering Thermodynamics, German Aerospace Center (DLR) and Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Stuttgart.  He is working in the research fields of magnetohydrodynamics, thermochemical energy storage, electrochemical energy storage and analysis of energy systems, simulation of energy storage systems from the micro- to the macroscale, development of isentropic energy storage technologies and electric flight.  

　　Professor Andre Thess is a member of Verein Deutscher Ingenieure (VDI), of the German Aerospace Society (DGLR), of the German Physics Society (DPG) and lifetime member of the American Physical Society (APS), also a member of the bureau of the International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (IUTAM) and a board member of the GAMM.
